As a '69 GS400 console automatic owner, I have been searching for a new or used shifter handle.(like many, mine is broken) I talked to the owner of a local die cast shop who can replicate it. Problem is, making one would be cost prohibitive. I would have to have at least 20 produced and sold for $100 each to be reasonable for making the cast. Anyone interested?

lets clarify it a bit more ...

you are talking about the pot metal piece that bolts to the shifter AND the sliding piece that runs inside it ?

    Exact duplicate ?

    Chromed like original ?

If so, at the $100 price, I'll take 2

Has this shop actually had one in-hand to inspect? And what Alan said... :) I could even be tempted, never know if a floor shift conversion might come back into the picture.

As a rule the inside slider does not brake, but the repro needs accept the slider, and $100.00 for the outer part is not out of line, as I said I have repaired one side on the outer, a few times, both my 68 and 69 have a repaired one and with the console in place you cannot tell it has been repaired and the slider works very well. Thanks Bill.

I would take one for a spare as long as they are good quality and you can clarify just what it includes.

I'd be in. I've repaired them before, but not having to do it again would be nice...

I went theu this deal myself once . I even still have a mint shifter handle in my possession to get reproduced . The cost for the casting was around $100 plus you have to have set up on a machine shop cnc to make the slides work correctly. Ad for the chrome work and I found to make like 50 was going be at cost close to $300 each for 50. If this guy has a finished product for $100 each I'm in for 10
