here goes nothing. i need a fan shroud. shoot me an email if you have one. thanks, paul c. bigkahuna417@aol.com
that would be great. who would you use do make them up? i have a guy that might be able to do something like that. he works with abs plastics doing prototyping. pm me if you want me to get a hold of him about doing something like this.
Was a plastic fan shroud used on the 67 GS 400 or was it a small metal plate mounted on top of the radiator cover with out the actual fan shroud? I looked at a 67 GS that was for sale that had the metal plate and purchased a metal plate off of an original 67 GS 400. I'll post a picture if someone wants to know what it looks like.
Yes! The small plate (fan guard) was used on non A/C versions The full plastic fan shroud was used on A/C cars.
Good to know. I picked up a"plate" off of ebay a couple of weeks ago from a guy parting out a 67 GS convertible. I wouldn't think many are available. I was the only bidder on the item.
I bought my fan shroud at year one. Not the best quality, but after grinding and filler it looks ok. See pictures here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=224011
thanks paul but thats basicly what i have now. it had to be heavily modified to even fit and looks terrible. the 400 - 455's water pumps were offset to the drivers side and the 300 - 340's were more on center with the crank.
I cant remember the part number, but i am sure i ordered it for a 67 gs400. You should not use a fan shroud from a small block car, it is to deep. I use a 18" clutch fan, and it looks like it is in center, but of course i adjusted the fan shroud to fit in center. I use TA aluminium engine mounts that place the engine a little higher than stock.
year one only lists them now for a 65 - 66 gs which would have a nail head. the 67 repro's apparently aren't being made anymore.
