    I have gotten so many different answers on my engine and parts so if you have an orginal GS 400 or know 100% please help first off the carb.#7027244 there is 0734 under it this is stamped on the carb no disk on the sidebut does have the right braket the the kick down switch. Second dist.# looks like 1111260 6M2 or just some lines the (1111)260 6M2. Third is the water pump 30660. Fourth Alt.# 1100774 55A under that is 6M14-12VNEG. Any help would be so great Thanks Rick P.S. I hope this is in the right place to list it. Thanks again

    Carb date looks odd to me so I wont guess but distributor date is December 2, 1966 and alternator is December 14, 1966

    The carb #7027244 has been mentioned here before for a GS400. Also carb kits list this carb for a GS400 A/T.
    I heard there was a problem with the needle/seat the early Q-jets in 67 so some have a service replacement carb on them. Perhaps this was not replaced as it is not a replacement carb #..

    There is no way of knowing with certainty that it is actually original to your car. We need to know the build date of the car to know if the build dates of the parts are reasonable for your car. (Parts are generally coded a couple of weeks to a month or two prior to the build date of the car.)

    His build date in 11D 4th week of November 66.

    The dates I gave you were made the next month after your build date but it is still possible they are original as if that is the Fisher body build date according to Duane sometimes bodies may have sat for a while waiting final assembly. It is odd they are so close so maybe? But someone also could have stripped an original car and swapped stuff over. Also I believe carb was built on the 73rd day of 74 so it was a replacement carb.

    It all depends how correct you want it to be. It can never be truly numbers matching as it is not date coded properly but someone obviously went to the trouble to order the correct # carb for the car so it will function properly and most people do not care or will ever notice. If you are never going to be in the concourse class I would not worry about it. I have correct # carb on my 71 Stage-1 but date is to late for my car and I found another Stage-1 carb that was ordered NOS and also has a 74 build date on it and I was happy to find it. If you want correct date code carb just look around maybe you will find but I would not bother. I will give you a website that carries nice used carbs but they are pricey. www.blake.com/oemcarbs/

    Just to add a note to what Dave has said.........

    For the 1967 model the 7027244 is a 2nd type (design) carb.
    GMSPO #7035352
    Rochester ID #7027244 = 400-4 with TH400 less A.I.R.

    Other 2nd type carbs. for 1967:
    7027246 = 400-4 w/M.T.
    7027248 = 430-4 less A.I.R.

    Service bulletins for 67 only note a problem with the pump rod
    being located in the wrong hole on the pump lever. #67-T-3,
    Nov.4,1966. There is possibly another service bulletin for the 67 carb(s)
    released during a later year. But it sounds like a previous owner
    had his carb. replaced in the mid 70s.
