67 gs decode

    top line 07D 1792 next line ST 67-44667 KAN 360 third line 198-B D1 bottom line E 2L 4F I dont know what the top line is ,198 is black buckets, E is tinted glass,2L is 4 speed,4F is mirror,I can tell you the car came with M-21 trans,the vin is stamped into it,what is the -B after the 198,and what is the D1

    The D1 is for the color of the car. I dont remember what color it stands for. The D is the bottom color and the one is the top color (vinyl top or painted). I think is for a black top. You can do a search for the color codes on the board.

    D1 would be Sapphire Blue with a white top.

    198( B ) is black interior trim with bucket seats. I am unclear as to the purpose of the letter B.

    I see you have a car in boxes simular to mine,maybe I can help with your project if you have any questions,mine is saphire blue,white conv. top,small console with tach around the 4spd shifter,I wonder if the -B has something to do with the console or tach,still dont know if my car was early july 66 or late july 67 production,does anyone know what day 67 production started

    A date code of 07D would be July '67.
    I have a July '66 built '66 GS and an August '65 built '65 GS.

    The 'B' after the 198 means buckets.....some plants added the 'B' for some reason. Most just used the3-digit number.

    And not all the plants listed the options on the cown data plate. Kansas did....you're lucky!
