top line 07D 1792 next line ST 67-44667 KAN 360 third line 198-B D1 bottom line E 2L 4F I dont know what the top line is ,198 is black buckets, E is tinted glass,2L is 4 speed,4F is mirror,I can tell you the car came with M-21 trans, the vin is stamped into it,what is the -B after the 198,and what is the D1
The D1 is for the color of the car. I dont remember what color it stands for. The D is the bottom color and the one is the top color (vinyl top or painted). I think is for a black top. You can do a search for the color codes on the board.
D1 would be Sapphire Blue with a white top. 198( B ) is black interior trim with bucket seats. I am unclear as to the purpose of the letter B.
I see you have a car in boxes simular to mine, maybe I can help with your project if you have any questions, mine is saphire blue, white conv. top, small console with tach around the 4spd shifter,I wonder if the -B has something to do with the console or tach, still dont know if my car was early july 66 or late july 67 production, does anyone know what day 67 production started
A date code of 07D would be July '67. I have a July '66 built '66 GS and an August '65 built '65 GS. The 'B' after the 198 means buckets.....some plants added the 'B' for some reason. Most just used the3-digit number. And not all the plants listed the options on the cown data plate. Kansas did....you're lucky!
