Sorry... this is going to be kind of vague..... I don't really know what I'm talking about... but I'm pretty sure I need some parts.

I remember reading something somewhere about how ragtops had additional wedges or something in the door jambs to stiffen the body while you're driving.

I've done some quick searching and can't find any info on them.
I see that Year One has "Guide Blocks" (#UJ12) on their site in the convertible section, but there's no pictures and they're $75.
Not only do I NOT know if they are what I need.... I don't know if maybe I have them already! :Dou:

So I guess I'm looking for some pictures of a 67 ragtop door jamb and what extra parts it might have (on the jamb and/or door) that a hardtop doesn't have.
Then I'll be able to tell what I need... and be able to recognize if I might already have them somewhere but didn't know what they were.
Remember... I tore this car apart 3 years ago.... too many brain cells ago.

Thanks!!
:beer

Hi guys
Thanks for the pics Ray :TU:
Now that I see them, I'm fairly confident that I don't have anything that looks like that. :Dou:

Thanks Michael. How's yours coming? Have you driven it yet? :Brow:
You mention that one side is plastic, one is brass.
They both look like aluminum (or maybe brass) in Rays pics.
Are yours aftermarket? Or maybe Rays are aftermarket?

Either way, it looks like I need to buy some.
Doesn't look like $75 worth of parts though. I wonder if the Year One "guide blocks" are the parts I'm looking for?

$40 is more like it Ray. Thanks for the link. :TU:

Michael, I funded a good portion of my ragtop by selling stuff too. :TU:
For $40, I think I'll just order them online. That way I'll have everything, since they come with the shims and screws too.
However... if you have a complete set with everything that you want to get rid of, I'll buy them! I'd rather send you money because I know it'll go towards that sweet ragtop.

I got to thinking... I "junked" the doors that came on my convertible because they were wasted. I stripped everything off them, and threw them back in the corner with a bunch of other stuff I need to take to work "someday" to scrap....
I dug them out tonight, and they still had the brass wedges on them!
They came right off and they're in good shape. I can't believe I missed them when I stripped everything else off the doors. :Dou:

So now I just need the plastic parts. Michael, if you have them, and are willing to sell them, I'll take them. :Brow:

If you don't, I'll just make something at work. It's just a piece of plastic (HDPE, Nylon, UHMW, Delrin, whatever we have in stock as long as it's black) with 2 holes in it right?
