The '67 rocker arms have a 1.6:1 ratio
Where the later years have a 1.54:1 ratio.

As for strength, I've never heard of any issues. Of course if your doing a major buildup of your engine you may want to consider aftermarket rockers from TA Performance. But for street engines with a decent build or less these are just fine.
Mostly it's the better ratio people desire.
To answer your question I think the steel ones are stronger.
