The car this drivetrain came out of was a running vehicle but the body was subjected to the salt air over in Melbourne Beach and developed a serious case of "Florida Cancer". I believe the transmission is a switch pitch super turbine but will have to verify that with photos and the assistance of a knowledgeable V8Buick member. The rear is nothing special - not a posi and just "road gears". This car had functional A/C and the compressor along with all of the other belt-driven items are still on the motor to include the air cleaner. I will add photos sometime tomorrow when the sun is out. I cannot even think about shipping this stuff so plan on dropping by the house here in West Melbourne to retrieve this vintage powerplant combo which is sitting in a trailer in the back of my home. It's been quite a while since I started this so it probably smokes by now - it would scorch the tires back when I last drove it. I'll take $250.00 for the entire drive train and I think I may even have the driveshaft too (not sure though). I have a floor crane to assist with loading. I no longer have my 66 Skylark so the backup spare parts are no longer of use to me. If you are looking for a motor that will run forever, this is the one! I put 300,000 miles on a 1966 Skylark convertible with the 340 2v motor and shipped it to Ankara Turkey for two tours of duty and all I ever had done to the motor was a valve job! I love the way you can change spark plugs on these in about 20 minutes and the distributor is in the front where it belongs! I am adjacent to Interstate 95 and Florida State Road 192. Come and get this thing!

Skylark300 I know what you mean! Things like this are very popular in California - here in Florida this will be on the shelf for a while. In scrap value alone, due to the weight it might be worth almost as much at "Trademark Metals" in Rockledge. Hoping to find someone in the Southeastern portion of the country that might want to make a run to West Melbourne for this great offer! We have property in Northern CA (McArthur, Day Road) and I wish I were there right now! Got to sell off all of my Skylark stuff before I can even THINK about relocating to the Golden State.

Where are you located? I live in West Melbourne right off of Exit 180 (I-95)which would be State Road 192. The motor has been sitting for a long while (possibly 8-10 years). I shot "Kroil" into each cylinder when I put it into storage and have done this several times over the years to try to keep the motor "free". I'll have to uncover it and try to turn over the flywheel with a pry bar to see if it is still free but that will not happen today - extremely busy! I'll be happy to send photos, some of which I already have taken a while back that are on CD (need to sort through the CDs). A lot of times I even make videos to show things like running motors, etc. and post them on Youtube under my user name of "aboonski". You can see one of the Skylark that I just sold under "300 340 Poston Headers" by doing a search once you are on Youtube. I'll post photos of the drive train in this thread or will be happy to provide you with them at your email address if you want.

Alan.. I live in a town named Sanford just north of you, I will check out your you tube videos. If you get a chance to see if it will still turn over that would be great ( no rush though I know its cold outside ...well at least for us Floridians! )and if you would send the photos to my email address. Thanks, Ron

Adding photos today. Sorry about the delay. I also want to reduce the price of this drivetrain because I have not been able to locate the differential. Now asking $200.00 for the motor and transmission. I have a floor crane and can help load the motor into your truck or trailer. I still need to see if the motor is "free" but I believe it is. Not intersted in "shipping" - local pickup only unless the person who desires shipping has an agent to handle all of the arrangements to pickup here at the house.
