    Hi :)

Tom.. Yeah, cleaning is due.. Keep in mind that this car has spent most of it's life in New Jersey, in a barn, so getting it back into "great shape" will take a while..

As for the wheel hubs, They ARE IDENTICAL..
Front and Rear Wheels are CENTERED (the camera angle is deceiving)..

    Sturla.. :)

Those are universal wheels, or not? (one size fits all) It looks as if, there are two sets of lug holes? It looks as if there is a gap between the drum hub and the wheel center hole(?)I would try finding the factory spec wheels.
I was leaning toward steering bushings. Then when I saw your wheel pics, I think you should try some different wheels. Some that are made specifically for your car.
(yes, idler arm; is the correct English) I had a '66 Chevy that had similar problems. Fixed it with all new rubber bushings on the steering parts.

Might need special lugnuts for those rims,if you have some original steel rims for the car you should try those.

Phil It really *is* a 350...

I was reading over this and may have missed it, but did you check your lower control arm bushings? I had a similar problem one summer and for the life of me couldn't figure out why the front end shuddered like hell and turned out one of the lower control arm bushings was worn real bad. Changed it and it and the problem was gone.

    Just a thought.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread like this, but I was wondering if there was any resolution to the situation. This sounds like what I am experiencing with my 62 Electra, and I am at my wits end with trying to figure it out.
