Can anyone help guide me to a place to buy a 66 gs throw out bearing, Mine is starting to look worn and I would like to get a new one while I have every thing apart. I hope its not made out of unobtainable:pray:
    Thanks

    Bob,

I'm afraid it's "unobtainium". They can be found if you do some digging and have time. I think they are around $150 or so if they turn up.

You might want to look up Brian Stone ("Brian") on this forum. I think he has
devised a way to make a commonly used bearing work with a little added effort.

Call, Terrill machine in Texas 254-893-2610 and tell them you want the big series clutch release bearing 1939-1948, this bearing is the same other than the ridge cone, the new one does not have as big as lip on it as the original. Remeber to adjust your linkage correctly to! got one for my gs works great! The original buick part number is 1319083 group .799, the updated 1367058. this bearing fits 1939-48 , 60-90 series , 63 Lesabre, 65-66 skylark gs, 63-66 cats also! Any questions let me know! The bearing part is easy..... It's BCA #1505, about $22
It gets pressed on to the retainer that consists of a hub with the 2 clips.
The retainer is tougher to find, but as Jon said, it was used on many applications.

So Bob, are you switching to a different tranny too?

Make sure you use a Lakewood adjustable pivot with that combo.

OK my throw out bearing fits the old t-10 but not the muncie m21 I am trying to put in.Its very close but wont go on. Any one had this problem?

  11. they have different size bearing retainers. you'll have to remove the muncie bearing retainer and have it turned down to fit the bearing. make sure the length is the same while your at it
