Hi Guys, What is the biggest tire anyone has ever tucked under a mini-tub 65 Skylark? Any info or suggests would be appreciated! thanks
I stuffed a 325-50-15 BFG Drag Radial under my 64, now has a 305-40-18 Nitto Drag Radial. Required a two-inch mini-tub as well as kicking the frame rails in 2 inches as well along with rearend narrowed two inches per side.
How much clearance did you have with drag radial? Did you drive it on the street? Did it rub at all? Thank you
Leaving the frame alone I was able to get a 285/40ZR17 under mine. Looking it over I could probably step up to a 295/40ZR17.
Street driven with 520HP BBB. Plenty of clearance inboard and outboard; but again with hours of mods.
Thanks guys. On the drag radial do you think you could have gotten a 315-60-15's in? Those are 30" tall.....
The 315 is narrower than the 325, so no problem on the width. The extra 2" height may come into play depending on your suspension set-up and ride height.
