I have a '65 Wildcat chassis under a '50 4dr sedan body. It's got drums all around, with a single reservoir master cylinder. I'd like to upgrade to a dual cylinder master cylinder. Can I just change the reservoir and run new lines?
Or will I have to change the booster also? Part #s would be a great help...
    Thanks

I'm currently doing the same upgrade to my 65 Skylark with manual drum/drum.

I'm probable going to add a 9" booster to mine, but you shouldn't need to change yours. I believe all you need is a dual MS from a 67 on up for the drum/drum setup, (both side should be the same size).

Now I did get this setup from ebay to ease the plumbing on mine:

He may have one specifically for your application.

    Dual master cylinder

    Chris,

    I attached a pic from a 67 Service manual.
It looks like there are 3 different types of master cylinders
used this year for the wildcat - 46 series.
    Hopes this helps.

  5. I heavily researched this on my 64.

I bought a 67 dual Master Cylinder to try on my Wildcat. While it did mount correctly rod-wise to my booster, I was not able to close the latch that held on the cover. The 64 booster was simply not dimpled corrected for the latch, even though it was the correct 11 inch.

If your Power Booster is the same between 64 and 65 model years, you will need to replace both the booster and the Master Cylinder. Also, my Wildcat uses 1/4 line all the way around. The 67 Master Cylinder ran like 3/8 and some other size, so if you expect to plumb it up to your factory brakes, there will be a lot of fittings and plugs.
