I was curious about a few things like Number of Super Wildcat Electra convertibles were made, so I contacted Sloan and have the Daily Production summary for

    64 Wildcat
    65 Le Sabre
    65 Electra
    66 Wildcat

    Fascinating.

The documentation included the 64 wagons, and shows one
4635 2 seat wagon built with 4-speed, dual quad and positraction.
And one 4645 3 seat wagon built with 4-speed, dual quad and positraction.

There were like 623 4-speed 600 series cars built in '64, just a few more than '65.

I'll have to make a spread sheet to break it down.

Not too long ago there was an auction and a 64 convertible 4-speed was sold, claimed to be one of 9. Well, the documents say there were actually 40 dual quad 4-speed positraction (4667) convertibles like that. I'm splitting hairs, I guess! They were nice cars auctioned off!

    Ted,
Do they give information on cars produced in Canada?
I'm thinking about strange things like the custom trimmed 66 Wildcat 4 door (pillared) sedan that I saw (not supposed to exist)... It might be the same in 65.
Also, I have never seen base trimmed 65 or 66 LeSabres or Wildcats that were made in Canada. The few that I have seen all had Custom trim.

The Canadian cars remain a mystery. I need to get up to Flint and see if they are withholding info from us Wildcat fans!

Hi, I was curious if you compiled the '65 Lesabre/Electra and '66 Wildcat stuff with big engines and sticks yet?

Yes I am new to this awsome site and also new to buicks. I have a 64 le sabre wagon three seater, but I am really confused on what my engine size, and correct size for wheels. Can some one tell me where to look. I have all the #'s to my intake and serial # thats in the front right of my block(standing in front of the car) but they dont match with any specs I've seen before. Please help, Im longing to dig into my engine and start restoring and making engine run, but I cant even order parts cause even the guys at my local auto parts store have problems identifying my engine :Dou: thanx guys

Post your casting number off your intake, and someone will likely be able to tell you exactly which engine it is

Had some trouble posting last night-
Check the stamped numbers on the block in front of the valley cover and post them. That should help...

Base engine for the '64 LeSabre wagons is the 401 (Wildcat 445) engine. The Sedans and Coupes were stuck with the 300 ci engine with aluminum heads and intake (cool)
Interesting note, the sedans and coupes were 440 series cars, and the wagons were 460 series-which means the wagons were set up like the Wildcats-with the Wildcat 465 and Super Wildcat (dual quad) engines available. :beer Sweet. What a year!

Hey, Roberta, where are you getting your number from? I'm checking my literature and can't find it.
