I started looking at my 4-speed clutch linkages and was wondering
what are you guys doing about wallered out holes and worn out pins.
Is there a replacement bushing for the linkage that pivots from the frame?
    Thanks, Ted

For the egged holes weld and redrill. I never had to add metal to a pin.

    Ted,

I think the bushings can be had from Year One, thats where I got them.
It's the plastic ones you talking about - correct?

I had to weld the rod that goes from the pedal through the firewall
to the linkage. The pin was worn halfway through. The bushing was shot, and it was metal-to-metal.

Same here...weld and grind or drill.
Even filled in some wear on the outside bellhousing fork lever that fits over the ball-lever thing. Looks like it's forged steel, so a mig worked fine.
Plastic bushings I got from Ames. Or maybe that was for my small-block Special.
I have yet to put a 4-speed Nailhead car back together...still planning to get the red car together this spring.:TU:

    Yeah, that sounds familiar...
The clutch pedal hole is wallered out, and the pin on that rod end worn halfway through.
The rod to the lever arm (outer) has the rubber bushing.
Thats in bad shape and I hope I can find something to fit.
Its all at the machine shop for some fixin'!

    Ted,

I could not find anything for that rubber bushing you describe. I had a friend of mine with access to some "special" processes fill that area with some type of nylon. He centered the inner sleeve into the arm, and filled the gap where there used to be rubber.
That should be a pretty permanent fix. i wonder how some others fixed that bushing?
