Hello All, Any one know what the first gear ratio is in these FoMoCo 3 speed gearboxes? There dosen't seem to be much information on these 3 speeds anywhere. Thanks for the help, -Andrew
According to the "Buick Features and Facts" book :Brow: the 3- speed manual is 2.49:1 in 1st, 1.59:1 2nd, 1:1 3rd. These are the same ratios listed as the 46000 series 3-speed. The transmissions do not look the same in the manuals though.
Thanks for the info Ted. Thats kind of close to what i got by counting input shaft revs as i turned the op shaft. I think this trans is very interesting since it was engineered for Fords. A little bit of good ole corporate hot roddin by GM to make that happen! -Hans
2.42, 1.61 and 1.0 from the 66 Chassis Service Manual under three speed transmission for GS Skylark and Wildcat. Cheryl
