Once I get the power top working.... where is the switch to raise and lower the convertible top? Thanks!!!

also, will it hurt it top raise and lower a power top manually? (the top motor is shot)

    Thanks!

Are you sure you have a power top? As for as I know, power tops were not standard equipment except on top line cars like Electra's.
If so, the switch should be somewhere on the dash or near the instrument cluster, and it should be marked either "top" or "acc"
If it is similar to my 64 Skylark, it turns both left and right to raise or lower top.
I'm not sure if raising or lower a power top manually causes further harm to motor, it will likely be difficult to do unless the pump has no oil in it. You could also dis-connect the cylinders from the top mechanism.
    Hope this helps,
    Tom

I believe it should be just uner the top lip of the dash right in the middle. It moves side-to-side like Tom said..

    Hi Carky,
Read the thread, I have a 63 Electra Convert and the dash is the same as the Wildcat. The ACC switch on the far right of the dash is where the switch should go. It is a plunger switch that goes forward and backward. Your's may be broken, if so you would have to hit the boneyard to find one for a 63-64 Lesabre, Wildcat, Electra. The switch is also used for a power antenna. You can also put the top down manually by disconnecting the pistons for the top. Take out the bolts on each side and the top will go down manually. The Skylark series is a completely different switch. Hope this helps.

Ok, I was just wondering if I can put it up and down as it sits (connected) without hurting anything, as the top may not get fixed for a while... but I want to go top down cruzing!!!

I was told the motor is shot.. so I am assuming the switch is ok

Do you guys actually have these cars in the scrapyards? I just got 80s and 90s crap!!! lol

    Thanks!

Undo the cylinder rods from the top frame. It will make raising and lowering manually much easier.

    Hi Carky,
Nicholas is right just undo the cylinder rods and you can fold it yourself. If you have a switch take good care of it because they are almost impossable to find. You may even consider putting a switch under the dash when you get the motor working so you won't have a problem with finding a switch. Mine broke and it took five years to find another one that worked.
