    Howdy,

Am I going to hurt the grill by trying to remove paint from it chemically? I've got a semi-custom idea to paint the grill squares black on the insides and black out the headlight sorrounds but I don't want to do something I can't undo should I hate it.

    Thanks,

You shouldn't hurt it at all. I have 1 headlight assm/grill section that was painted black. I'm trying to remove the paint to get to the chrome. It is all chrome under the argent paint. Krylon 1403 is the argent replacement paint if you need to go back.

Any petroleum based paint solvent (acetone) woult not damage the metal nor the chrome.
Be careful with caustic soda...will take the paint out....and reshape your grill like lace...
