Last year decided to take the buick out for a drive so went to nearest populated town. was driving through when this mazda pulled up beside me with its new paint and dirt bike exhaust guy gets in the lane beside me when we stop at light and starts mocking my car. I couldnt believe it this punk kid is actually mocking my car sure the 62 electra sure isnt the lightest or best looking car lol ( inside joke with a friend) but its got the power to move down the road, and plus i got a performance cam and new exhaust manifold and exhaust hee hee more power, so i just look at him put the car in neutrel and rev to my hearts content the kid looks down looks back says at the light to the next i nodded, well from this light to the next is about 1/2 mile prolly shorter but said what the heck have nothing to lose light turned green we both punched it he pulls out to a 10 feet lead but then he forgot about 1 thing nothing beat cubic inches, i slowly start gaining on him, my car shifts and i blow right by him like he was standing still at the next light im waiting for him laughing at him. He says nothing and turns really, I made him feel bad but i guess my generation knows nothing about the strength of old buicks

    Stats on my 62 electra

    401 nailhead 4bbl edelbrock 750
    Performance camshaft
    Dual Exhaust
    4 door sleeper

    That's one clean looking Electra!
The youth of today have no idea how slow their cars are. They've also been fed the line that V-8s are inefficient and obsolete. As a result they think their modern little 4 bangers are superior to cubic inches. Great kill. :beer

    Love It

Don't you love showing them that the big buicks can kick ass, I liked showing my buddy with his GS455 Conv that he can't stomp all over my 69 Electra Conv like he thought he could - he tried to run away from me one time on a long double laned hill - needless to say he got a bit of a surprise - wouldn;t want to try the same from a dead stop, but once mass was in motion... :Brow:

Big Buick rule - and you have a shar :TU: p one

yeah, most of the buick 455s have no business disrespecting any of the 430s.

Good kill. Have you noticed that those little cars make all that noise when they accelerate but the car doesn't seem to be going any faster? A $99.00 Pep Boys tail pipe add-on won't cut it against a Buick. I normally don't care much for sedans but yours is sweeet.

    NICE KILL!

I know how that goes. I wasnt driving because i am only 15, but my brother and i were out at the cruizing spot and this guy was in an old rx7 and talking big. He was like, "hey, anyone have enough sack to race me?". My brother and i looked at each other and laughed. So we raced this guy in the 65 electra (the one in my avatar) and we gained at least 2 "electra lengths" on him in like less than a quarter mile. And the sad part was, this guys car was a turbo and weighs like a millionth the amount ours does, plus ours is a stock 401 with lifter noise and and a bad exhaust leak. (Not that i am saying that the 65 is slow)( dont get me wrong, that electra pulls great)

But yeah, nice kill and very nice car. That electra is so sweet looking!
