Hello All, I have a 1959 Lesabre which came with manual brakes. I wanted to keep the current location of the master cylinder, but add power assist. Had anyone done this to their 59? Thanks for all the help.

    • You're in luck due to already having the manual brake pedal assembly.
    • I've read that you have to redrill the pushrod mounting hole in the brake arm to get the geometry correct, and pretty sure you have the change the pushrod itself.
    • Also have to drill extra mounting holes if you are going to a 4-bolt set-up.
    • I plan to change my manual single pot to a manual dual pot but haven't started that procedure yet.

Are you changing to a dual master or sticking with the single pot?

I have an old 68 skylark booster with dual pots for drum brakes. I received some suggestions from from FB also. I have a parts Lesabre I may try it on first before I hack up the good one.

do you know a good source for parts such as maybe hubcaps, some trim pieces. And maybe sedan door?

I am also contemplating putting power steering in. I am wondering if a 60 model set up would work. Not sure about the column length.
