I am trying to find a fuel tank for my 57' Buick. No one makes a reproduction tank so I have been looking at some others that are reproduced. The one that looks to be the closest is the 59-60 Chevy http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/p...tegory_id=124/home_id=59/mode=prod/prd172.htm
    or possibly 55-56 T-Bird.

or maybe 87' Bucik Regal. Could anyone with a Regal verify these measurements using my drawing to determine if this tank would work?

Notice the dimentions given on the Chevy does not specify W X L and it does on the T-Bird. Tanks Inc. tells me the Chevy dimentions given are L X W. While the T-Bird is W X L. No consistency here. I was wondering if anyone with a 59-60 Chev could verify the dimentions? Also I have included a pic of a original fuel tank and then a drawing with dimentions. I do not have a original tank. The pic I am posting I got off the internet so the dimentions in my drawing are estamates taken form my car. If anyone could verify these dimentions I would be grateful. If anyone has any input or ideas of alternative tanks that may fit please by all means let me know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dan

If you can find a core 57 tank, you can send it out for a rebuild.

Thanks for the info. I talked with Gary at GM Obsolete and he says he has a nice one. 1000.00 and 110.00 shipping. I think I am going to see if I can find a repo that will fill the ticket.

Tanks Inc did a little mesuring for me and here is what they sent me. The first tank is the 55-56 T-Bird. Notice the fill tube comes out of the top of the tank. Because of this I don't think it is going to work but notice the 59-60 tank has relatively the same fill tube mount but the offset is slightly more. I just need Tanks Inc to verify the length on this tank. I have the other company with the Buick Regal tank getting some measurements for me as well.

421 if it still helps you out, I will get a few photos of my 57 tank and the measurements and post them soon. It is lying in my shop and waiting to be installed back into my car.

    Buick 57,
I would really appreciate some measurements...[IMG] The drawing I did was from taking measurements lying on my back under my car with no tank.

I found a fuel tank. It had a 57' Buick Special wrapped around it. There are lots of good parts on this rig. I will be parting this rig out so I will be posting it in the parts for sale section.
