    apb Considering a classic

I'm new to the Buick dance and considering getting a '55 Special. In taking to one restorer he stated that installing the dynaflo with the motor in the car is a pretty involved and tricky operation due to the torque tube and the chance of damage to the front pump.

First you have to get the torque tube and attached rear end out of the way and then be very carefull to align the trans as it approached the engine to prevent damage to the front pump caused by hitting the torque converter with the engine.

I'm new to Buicks but not new to working on cars. Is this a big issue and is it the same issue if removing and replacing the engine with the trans in the car? Just how delicate is this thing?
