55 buick special restoration

    thats exactly what i ended up doing ive been super buzy the last two weeks car is ready to come off the frame its a lil heavy so im gonna wait till i gather up another :idea2:5 or 6 people hopefully it can come off tonight or tomorrow ill be uploading pictures of the car soon

    the car is off the frame woot woot dam this thing is heavy i got some pictures of what it looks like ill be sending it out in about two weeks to get everything media blasted and hopefully it will look very nice mean while time to take out the engine and tranny to get rebuild its gonna be a very busy month suspension is getting redone as well while body is off.... talking about dropping big bucks huh well let me know what you guys think so far and happy 4th of july:beer​

    How heavy is heavy? At some point I may want to do this to my '61 also, but I'm curious as to the best options for lifting, procedures, etc. Obviously the dog house is removed first, but how many body mounts are there for the rest?

    this has been for fun and everything has been done out of our garage haha i gathered about 6-8 people and lifted the car out last time i remember there was like 8 mounts that hold it to the frame not bad at all have fun with the project sure is a blast

    FWIW: The service manual has you removing the steering wheel, the directional and gear selector levers, cover the column with masking tape to prevent scratching, and removing the column from the engine side of the firewall. The manual says that this job requires two men. I say: whatever works.

    i ended taking it off with the steering gear hooked up on it but thanks
