    Hi there!

Have been looking to buy a 50s car for quite some time and have come across a 53 Buick Special 2 door (not hardtop). It's in pretty good condition, very little rust (only one spot, easy to fix), a little bit of rust on the back bumper (not much though), one large ding on the passenger rear quarter panel, drives smoothly and seems to run really well (straight 8). The interior needs some work (new headliner and carpeting but seats are fair though I would want to redo them at some point), but overall I think it is in good shape... The guy who has it has been using it as a daily driver. It's more than I was planning to spend on a car right now but would take a lot less work than most I have seen so I think it might be worth it...

Anyway, this looks like the place to ask this, so what is it worth? I know this will be a guess on ya'll's parts, but any guesses would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks a bunch!!

53 two doors are quite sought after even sedans a great year. Old car price guides lists them at around 4000 it all depends on condition. Be carefull have someone with some car knowlege check it out, and remeber Buicks are a little more expensive to work on than say your common chevys and fords. Post some pics, and we could help a little more.

  3. Welcome to the V8 board Katie Lou! Like Brandon said, pics tell a big story, especially "good" pictures. The more the better. If you need any help posting and/or resizing pictures to post here, just ask. I can resize pic files if you need, just email them to me at dave.gramlow@horvick.com

    Deal

Hey a few years ago I bought my 57 spcl for 500. I always thought I got a great deal on it. Didn't need alot of work. it was just in peices. lol. But now I am just thinking that it wasn't so great. I got into it and found that some of the peices didn't match or didn't work any more. I have been for years trying to track down a break system for it. I finally found one about a year ago. but yes I think you made a deal. All I have left on my buick is a paint job and to get the dash reapolstered, with the door panels
