hey guys, im new here. i have a 65 buick gran sport and a 455 in it. im looking for some info on a tremec 5 speed. will it match up? i am also considering a t10 or muncie. also, i found a complete kit for clutch linkage on chevelles r us .com. will this work on a buick? im assuming an a-body is an a-body. thank you

you would need to get a Tremec with a BOPC bell housing and a passenger side mounted starter. the Chevy pattern bell will not work without an adapter.

i am also considering a t10 or muncie.

these should bolt up to the back of a GM factory manual bell and should not be a problem. if you look at a T-10 you'd better make it a Super T-10. the regular T-10 is too weak to hold up to a BBB.

I am installing a Tremec TKO600 5spd right now in my 71. I was warned years ago when I installed the muncie M20 that I would eventually want a 5 speed, and here we are. I sold the muncie & have a tremec going in. The install is not as bad as people say it is. Cut the hole in the floor w/template given in kit. You need a BOP bellhousing, the kind with starter "ears" on both sides. I don't know about the Chevy linkage/z-bar assy on your a-body, but it fit in mine. You will need flywheel & clutch also. But there is nothing like manual for me. Good luck...
