455 swap

    I recently threw a rod in my 1975 Buick LeSabre Custom Convertible. She's a beautiful car and worth replacing the motor. I recently bought a "Kenne Bell" 455 motor that had a single plenum intake(?) and a different (I was told better/more high performance) exhaust manifold than the one on my "blown" 455. My question is, can anyone tell me whether or not this version of the 455 motor will work in my "cruiser?" I believe this is a "high performance" motor and I'm not looking to build a dragster. I just would like it to drive as i have come to expect with maybe a little more low-end torque and more efficient gas mileage if at all possible. Will this motor possibly get me there or should I sell this one and find a more "stock one?" Thanks in advance for any advice one can offer to a fellow Buick enthusiast.

    need to know moter spec. such as compression and what cam it has in it, those are the 2 things that should tell you how it will run

    I will try to find out that info. It's currently in a shop where my mechanic will be tearing it down and finding out more about it. What are the potential pitfalls of the "wrong/too high/too low" compression? What size cam do you think is best for my application? Thanks again!

    id wate and see what you have, just a note high compression you might have to run octane boost, that also might not be a problem if the heads and pistons have been polished, usually the intake duration on your cam will be the biggest factor, to much and you loose intake vacumm, and needs a stall converter to idle but we could talk all day on cams, im sure you will get a lot of responces once you post your engine specs.
