It was off road at the Sand drags in Glamis, Ca. My buddy and I were hanging out on the sidelines and decided to race. He has either a Merlin or a World SBC block, Brodix heads 434 stroker with MPFI, and a 5 speed trans in his Jeep.

My Rock Buggy has a 455 with a Holley Comander 950 TBI, a TH400, and allot of expensive Aluminum from TA Performance.. .
Surprisingly enough, both motors cost a similar amount to build.

We were kinda out of our rockcrawling element in the sand, but we had paddles on and big V-8's so it really wasn't too bad. Allot of people showed interest in my choice of motor. Not to mention the extra attention we got for our beat up rigs.

We lined up without a tree, I just watched him for when to pin it, and smoked him 5 times in a row! A V-8 rail joined in about race 3 and was barely beating me by a car length. For all the money he had in his sand car, ya think he would have done better. Not to mention he was probably a couple thousand pounds lighter than me.

I have a pic of me going down the drags, my buddy took for me.

By the way I think your just alittle crazy, but in a good sort of way. :TU:

I met a guy and his dad at the 99 GS Nat's in Columbus, who drag raced his 455 powered Regal on frozen rivers up in WI. They had lights, timers and the whole nine yards. They said the fastest car that raced with them was a Chevelle that went 115 mph in the 1/8!! :eek2:
