    I am building a 455 race engine.

I want to know if anyone knows what the deck height is for a 1972 455. I have a set of smog heads that are 71cc's and I want to mill them down to around 66cc's.

I just want to know if I will have enough clearance to run 10.1 to 10.25 to 1 flat tops.

I run the GS112A cam from Postons.

    Thanks Dustin

Well, I can offer this bit of info. The normally available Buick pistons usually end up about .045-.055" in the hole ( meaning the deck heigth of the piston is around that far down the cylinder @ TDC).
A common practice is to "Zero" deck the block to raise compression as it will gain you roughly twice the CR increase of cutting the heads surface.
