455 hei

anybody got a used hei from a 455 they want to part with. i think a 350 will even work if i swap my points ones gear over.

 

Is the shaft diameter the same between the points and HEI distributors?

 

I have one that I believe is Buick. It came with a parts lot . $25 plus shipping . If interested let me know and I can get you pictures. Tony

im not sure id imagine they are as they swap in the same hole.

 

The gears will swap no problem between the distributors

 

Shaft diameter will be the same, they did use 2-different size roll pins on HEI, it'll either be same size or larger then the points gear. Worst case drill out the roll pin hole on your gear.

If not mentioned I’m sure you know a difference I was going to swap from points to HEI on my ‘72 Electra the feed is 12v on the HEI unit vs. …?

 

you just need a key switched 12 volt feed.

theres how they wire. is for a chevy but they all use the same cap and coil setup.

The gear is 13 tooth and the number looks to be a 350 Distributor so you would need to swap gears.

 

350 will work
