Does anyone know of a source for a flat bottom, wet sump oil pan for the Buick 455? One for a crossmemberless application like a boat or dragster is what we need for our rail. We have a TA fabricated steel pan now, which I feel is superior to a stock or modified stock pan, but it sits too low in our app. I know some of these chassis-car, doorslammer Buicks are using something better than what we have now, all of them can't be dry sump... I am not scared to plumb an external line from the pickup to the timing cover/ oil pump if that is required. RB

Yes. This would be excellent, if we can afford it. I have stock pan cores, and could even send this fabbed TA pan, if preferred. I need to do measurements from the crank centerline to the bottom of the rail to get the front and rear depth. Our MoPar wedge rail uses a Hemi shallow Milodon pan, with plenty of trap doors and baffles, so that it can hold enough oil while being compact. On those motors, though, the crank doesn't extend much below the pan rail. The bottom of the rail under the motor is open, so no real contours would be required. I will research SRE, maybe Steve will respond in the meantime... RB

Is this what you are looking for I made this one for my boat I had the same problem that I could not go any deeper than a stock pan. I have half inch clearance with this one. It works great solved my oil over heating problem and foaming. Here's a pic I cut up an old pan for this one. Here's the link to the pic's
