I have a STOCK 455 in a 71 Riv. What I wanted to know is how streetable are the Stage 1, Stage2 Heads from TA. I am keeping a stock block, probably running the Stock carb. Also would like to know what Aluminum Intake and Cam would be appropriate for this car. I don't need a gush of HP, But a nice healthy Powerplant would be awesome.
    Any Suggestions?
Sorry, this is my first Buick build. I am dumb to this:confused:

    A couple of depends.

How stock do you want this engine?
How much performance do you want from this engine?
How much money are you looking to spend?

If you want the stock look and do not want to spend that much money then stay with the stage one set (stage one SE).

An even cheaper way is get a set of Elebrock aluminum heads.

While both are upgrades over stock and offer better performance.

For an intake you can't go wrong with a B4B from Elebrock.

Well, power wise? Just a few more ponies, but still want to drive it on the highway and turn the air on. but yeah, that stage 1 is looking good. Thanks Mr. Evans!

  4. For that goal, how about starting at the other end and upgrade exhaust, possibly the single greatest bang for buck. Port matched intake and iron manifolds, 2.5" mandrel bent stainless, x-pipe, Dynomax / Flowmasters - whatever you can put up with at neighborhood throm. Be careful going any larger as our Rivs are slung low to begin with - and will bottom out even the 2.5" exhaust system on high driveways and speed bumps. (Don't ask me how I know this:error: )

Also, read GS Larry's thread on power timing. Plenty of power in that stock motor just waiting to be awakened...
