  1. Currently I have a 1968 riv without a motor. I’m undecided on which motor (430 or 455) to have rebuilt and installed. I would like to increase the performance as high as possible without having to change the rear end, brake, suspension and tran
What are the TRUE differrence between the two and which motor will be better suitable for what I'm trying to achieve?

Is there any benefits in purchasing a rebuild kit and providing it to the machine shop for install? (If so, where is a GOOD place to purchase) ..... or allow the machine shop to purchase and install everything?
Also, is their anyone who can guide me in the right direction to a reliable rebuild shop the Chicago area?

    Thanks....

455 it's bigger bore has more breathing potential, but if you want period correct 430.If you buy the parts you could get them cheaper but if you get them through the machine shop they should stand behind them if any problems arise.
