I remember reading something here about having to plug some oil passage when putting 430 heads on a 70 455, I will be using stamped steel rocker arms and pushrods from a 76 455.

Yes, you need to plug the holes that oil the rockers thru the head. Some wedge a lead ball in there.

Putting 455 heads on a 430 requires no changes.

The intake maifold bolts on a 430 and a 455 are different sizes. The 430 are smaller in diameter so the 455 bolts will be too fat to fit. Be sure you have bolts that fit before you attempt to button up the intake!

Why not try to find a freeze plug that will fit to block the head.

the holes to be blocked are they in the heads or in the block?

Either one. Probably should do the ones in the heads.

Do you know of which holes we speak?

    plug holes

Do the block,I've seen oil seep past the gasket on the head /block surface and come out along the front of the motor.Drive you nuts looking for that oil leak.
