Is anyone out there running the TA 408s flat tappet solid lifter cam?? I have one, the cold lash per the cam car is .030, seems loose, I have run this cam before, had to have it "cleaned up" with a regrind, but I thought that when I ran it before, I had the lash tighter, like .022 or .024. Has anyone played with the lash on this cam and found the "hot spot"?? I did set the lash cold to the .030 for start up, but may tighten it up after. Here's alittle more info., aluminum stg. 2 TE's ,and 1.7 roller rockers, 464ci 12 to 1 comp. with some nitrous. Soon to be up and running, back in the 9s'!

    Hot lash / Aluminum heads...

With Aluminum heads you can set it at .025-.026 cold since it will grow with aluminum heads.

Gary if its not to late throw that cam in the barrel !!! i tried that cam and went 3 ths slower and then put in a smaller custom gring and picked up even more. if i were you id put in the 508 we just ran that cam in doug heckers car and first pass out it ran 9.16 then 9.12 at salem, his best with his big roller and over 14 to 1 was 9.01 at salem mph was almost the same on that track, if it would have lasted a little longer i know i could have tuned that combo into the 9.o?ss. so if the 408s allready in mabye you could swap it later and see how much it picks up. good luck anyway. John
