I got a 63 buick lesabre to restore, and took the heads out to check them because I was getting water in my oil. When we magnafluxed them we found a crack near the valve. I now need a new head, and need to know if I can use either head, or maybe a 425 head? What I have in the car now is a 401 nailhead. Any suggestions?

If not where would be a good place to look for classic parts?

the heads from a 57-66 364-401-425 will all work for you. There are a few heads with slight differences such as 65-66 AIR pump heads, some of these heads are drilled for the AIR pump tubes others just have the casting boss but no internal difference. There are the very rare aluminium heads, and the extremely rare 'D' port heads. These will all work on your engine but don't expect to find them unless you chase a leprechan under a rainbow.
I have some 'core' heads here, but not sure what shipping would be to you. Where are you located?

Travis There used to be a wrecking yard in Tacoma WA that had a lot of early Buick parts. Its called Meridian Auto Wrecking. I think their number is
253 847 1922. I'm not positive on the number but it may be worth a try if none of the guys on V8 Buick can help.

All I can tell you is that it is taken from a 401. It has no visible cracks, but you would have to have it tested first to be absolutely sure it has no small cracks. If it fails the test, I would refund your money.
