I thought I read a discussion on this board about the 4 speed floor shifter cutouts but couldn't find it doing a board search. Is anyone reproducing the Buick floor pan with the proper manual trans shifter cutout? Someone on the www.buickclub.org board is looking for one for his '71 Stage car. Thanks!
I think the factory cut out in the floor is very poor. On my 70 "X" 4 spd and the 72 4 spd conv. looks like the cutting was done with a torch and both are #'s matched cars. The repo pan can be cut very easy for the 4 spd. Bill
I would have said a jack hammer, but you could be correct about the torch. The same guy was apparently used to cut the squares on th bottom of the deck lid when a spoiler was installed.
I found this in the u-shift em section Hope it helps My 70 GS has a hole 5X6 from the body hole on the drivers side it is 16 inches to the edge. From the pas. side it's 21 and a half inches. From the body support behind the tranny it's 8 and 3/4 inches and from the firewall lip where it bends under the car it's 6 and 1/4 inch.
interesting stuff i have heard about some rough cut holes in floorboards before. thats interesting because my 70 stage 1 four speed has a hole that looks like it was stamped out in a big machine. i mean its a very clean cut, precise hole. definetly not cut with a torch or saw, nothing like that. whats the story on these ? henry white 40 dodge coupe 70 GS 350 70 GS 455 70 STAGE 1 four speed, numbers matching, sloan certified 87 dodge W 250 4X4 tuff truck 02 silverado 1500 like a rock
The cut out in my car was not stamped uot by a machine thats for sure. I know it is a factory car because the serial #'s match. A little crude to say the least.
yea my 4-speed hump looked kinda cheezee too and mine is an original 4-speed car and i have the original M-21 for it. Thanks
The 68 GS 400 and my 73 GS 4 speed holes looked like they were hacked with a torch too.Not the nicest looking jobs in my opinion. Pat
