3pt Retractable Belts for Convertible - Again

This topic seems to come up about every other year. I'm interested in 3pt retractable seat belts for the front of my 70 GS convertible. Morris Classics sells this kit, the rear bracket mounts to original front shoulder belt location (one additional hole required in the top frame), and a notch cutout in the top cylinder cover. Is anyone out there using this setup, and if so, any feedback? Pic is from a Chevelle. Thanks, Tom

  2. Tom,

The Pic you are looking at is from my 69 Skylark. I helped Billy design the custom brackets. What do you need to know?

Hi Rich, I'm trying to improve the lap belt situation w/out significant mods. I'm a little hesitant to drill the mounting hole in the top frame although in the grand scheme of things it's probably not a big deal. How do you like the setup? Thanks, Tom

  4. Tom,

I think it works great. I just worked with Morris to extend the belt material by 12 inches to allow a little more breathing room. If you removed the kit and went back to lap only, no one would know. As you can see from the pics, I painted the bracket to have it blend in with the interior. Your call, but I like the extra safety.

  5. By the way, if you want more pics of the install, let me know.
