Update 04/02/2021: Due to reports of USPS charging postage due on a few shipments, I'm going to start shipping small USPS flat rate. The first set is now $30 but each additional set will be $24 as long as they fit in the same box.

Update 7/16/2018: All outstanding orders have been shipped.

I've moved the actual transactional part of this to the Shade Tree Mechanic section as it has quickly progressed to the "shut up and take my money" phase! LOL

Here's the current list for mirror gaskets that I'll be contacting folks in this order once they are available.

The list above is for the angled gaskets for late model mirrors, correct?

I'd be interested in an angle set for sport mirrors and several for chrome '70-72 mirrors (5-10) - I have several very nice used & NOS ones missing gaskets.

If above is for angled, I thought standard sport mirror gaskets were hard to come by, but haven't seen them mentioned. I have some Buick Sport Mirrors, but not sure if have gaskets. I'll check unless I'm mistaken and someone already makes them?

Thanks for undertaking this. Seems some of the best parts we get are the ones we undertake ourselves.

Maybe but the consensus is the Camaro ones aren't correct and that's what most people sell.

    Sport Mirror Gasket Folks!

We've had lots of things going on but he tells me he'll have two production units for me to try this week. I'll take lots of pictures and make sure everyone is aware of what they look like and we'll go from there, notifying folks on the list in order.

    Chrome Mirror Gasket Folks!

Ok folks, I've gotten the chrome mirror gasket from DasRottweiler I have couple of questions for those interested.

    1) Does it have to have the locating nub on the bottom of the gasket?
    2) Does it have to have the raised lip on the top outside edge?

A flat gasket is easy but if it has to have those features, I'll let my buddy know and see what he says.

That nub is used as kind of a stabilizer for the gasket and included on the factory template. The mirror "fits" into the gasket because of that raised lip.

So, I'd go with yes on both questions.

Is there one in existence? Copying one is usually pretty easy. Creating one without a 69 door to test with is going to be difficult.

How pliable is the material ?

The gaskets are being printed in ABS plastic so they are pretty fairly rigid.

Greg, I may have a spare '69 gasket if you are interested. Let me know and I'll dig it out.

I'll keep that in mind. I'd like to clear this backlog before we expand the project.

Has your 3d printer guy ever tried to print with PETG? Its kind of a cross between PLA and ABS. It's not as rigid as ABS, has some flex to it. It may hold up to vibration a little better than ABS.

The PETG seems to be more flexible in very thing prints but it is just about as rigid in greater thicknesses. This is a science project for sure. He's brought in several demo prints he's done of different things in the different materials for comparisons.

Im having these printed. Trunk fillers for 68 - 69 Riv. The ABS is to ridged. Supposed to have another sample on the way soon printed on another material but for some reason it only comes in white which is not ideal.

Can they be printed in TPU? Much more rubbery.
