hey all.. i just found myself a nice 71 455 to put in my 69 GS350. what kind of unexpected problems should i expect...lol... i.e. fan shroud, radiator, motor mounts, things like that that i might have to change to accomidate the 455??

Frame pads and shroud, 4core radiator wouldn't hurt. Its pretty straight up once get the right frame pads on, available at TA or Poston. Your exhaust won't match up either. I had to do some "custom work" on that. Use the search function on the board, there's tons of info already posted.

once did a car and had to change out the front coil springs, it saged a little and the rebound sucked!!! i would say those springs were shot to begine with it but drove ok with the 350

Maybe put that 455 on a diet

If you put aluminum intake, pulleys, headers, relocate the battery, you could lower the front end weight a bit and get away without changing the springs, but if the springs are old anyway....no brainer.:bglasses:

I fyou are gonna mod the engine any at all (intake, cam, etc) go ahead and just figure a 4 row radiator. My 3 row just wouldn't handle it. The 4 row works just fine.

I also had to change my front springs.

    good luck:)

I put a 455 in my 72 Skylark Custom. Here are a few things the come to mind:

    Longer throttle cable,
Longer spark plug wires (of course),
    T400 gas pedal assembly.

I had a LeSabre donor car.
