    Looking great! Make sure you remove the paint where the trans meets the block...The paint can cause issues like loosenig bolts and even broken trans.

    Thank, yes a V8 engine is very nice-looking.

    Sean, what do you mean about "where the trans meets the block" ?
    I don't understand, sorry.

  3. Phil

    Phil It really *is* a 350...

    Sean means the mating surface where the trans is bolted to the engine should have no paint.

    Heu....... Phil, what is "the trans" ?

    I Know, I suck in English ! :Dou: (vocabulary, It's hard)

    He means the Transmission. Trans is short for Transmission.

    Don't worry about the english, I still suck at it and it's what I speak :Dou:

    Looking great so far :TU:

    :grin: :grin:

    Yes !!! The surface where the gear box is fixed. Of course, the bolts can be loose if the surface isn't clean.
    Ok i understand now ! :beers2:

    Thank ! :TU:

    Yes there are sometimes things lost in translation.

    Transmission = Gearbox
    Trans = Gearbox

    I forget a lot of times in Europe that transmission is referred to as gearbox. :TU:

    Yes, in truth, transmission in Europe is all cinematic chain the gearbox to the wheels (box, shaft, deck, transfert etc...), so, the gearbox is part of transmission. :TU:

    DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

    engine shortblock ( block - pistons - crank ) : like a house that is your foundation - time , study , parts selection and careful machine shop selection are important . get that correct and later parts added and subtracted can be usually done without removing it from the car . a little extra money spent there will be a good idea .

    Hi, I agree with you and I come back for the following.
    So, rods & pistons were assembled in the block with new bearings and pistons rings, of course. The pistons were stored, all rods were replaced by used in very good condition.
    (thank EbayMotor...)

    And oil pump rebuild kit...
    [IMG]

    I considered necessary because i should be sure i don't have oil pressure problem. I think It's that what killed rods and crank with a bad oil quality...

    For security i prefered rebuild the oil pump.
