I usually can remember everything, but it's been too long since I blew the front of the engine apart and I need a little help. I have installed my TA cam and went on to install the fuel pump lobe etc. when I realized that I believe I have left the funny little stamped round hat out. Do I need to slip the timing set back off (easy to do) and put the hat on with it facing to the block and behind the timing gear? And what is the purpose of the hat, is it to retain oil near the front cam bearing? Thanks guys for the help. Once I get this back together and if it runs proper I have a duzy of a story to go with it ( new cam bearings..hint, in car install)....lol:eek2:
