A buddy of mine has a 69 lesabre (super clean) with the high compression 350-4 in it. The other day he started asking me questions about intakes and headers for the vehicle, and I promptly informed him about TA performance. 69 lesabre now has TA intake on it along with a TA booster oil plate. He's also hanging a dual 2 1/2" exhaust with three chamber flowmasters to help it breathe (no one made headers for the 69 lesabre). Those mods should really help the car breathe.

My question is in regard to the carb. He's still running the stock four barrel, and I was wondering if anyone had any tuning info for that carb with the TA intake and free exhaust. Does the carb even need to be modified to work with this combo? Also, what are you guys running for initial timing on similar set ups. I'm used to big block buicks, so the small block is unknown to me. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Brett,

Since he has more air going in and going out, the carb will probably need richening up.

He might even consider having someone such as John Osborne or some others on board, go thru it!

That's an awesome engine. Aluminum rocker arms, and nearly bullet proof. T/A intakes work well, but good luck getting the choke to function right afterwards. Don't worry about boosting the oil pressure unless he's intending to beat it fairly hard.
I had good luck with just the oil pump rebuild kits, and they're cheap and easy to install.
