On to the next thing, looking for exhaust manifolds for a 350. What to send a set to have them ported vs running headers. So if anyone has any leads on any please let me know. THANX
Tell us where you are located and you should be able to find someone with some manifolds for you. For a street car the headers are a big hassle and with your chassis I am not sure if they would fit anyway... I know Greg Gessler doen manifold porting, lots of $ though! Just use stock manifolds unless you have a highly modified engine. I would just use stock manifolds and dual 2.5" Exhaust with maganflow mufflers. For HP the headers are great. They are a hassle to install. No matter what you do be sure to use a set of exhaust gaskets from here: http://www.bjsoffroad.com/prod-589.htm
I have a 71 Skylark with 350-2bbl setup single exhaust. I'd like to upgrade the exhaust on the cheaper side and would like to use the stock manifolds. I measured mine and they are 2" so how exactly do you get to a 2.5" exhaust? Pardon the ignorance
well for instance , the TA performance down pipes bolt right to the stock manifolde , they neck up to 2 1/2" . can't remember the part# right off - at work now . they go down and back under the crossmember right towards the stock muffler location ( on a skylark body style ) . other cars may need a little "adjustment" . need a pic or two ? also , mid 70's big car 350's right side manifold may be dif . i think thats what i've got on and right side manifold is a little longer and no heat riser used . TA pipes bolted right up .
I'm in North Carolina, and I need a passenger side manifold for my 71 lark BADLY. It's got a 350-2 and there's a crack in the manifold near one of the bolts. It was sealed once, before i bought the car, and I think it's getting worse. I have been looking for a manifold in good condition since i bought the car. I have just had no luck. She's starting to run kinda rough now so I'm pretty sure i'm going to need one soon! Please PM me if you're nearby and have one in good shape. Thanks!
