350 down pipe for stock exhaust manifold

Discussion in 'Small Block Tech' started by Anders Ragnvald, Nov 28, 2021.

  1. Hello Buick friends ...I am pretty new on the forum and is my first question here on the forum, so I hope that I have place my question in the right place.

I am from Denmark so sorry if my us language not is perfect :)

I have a 1972 Buick skylark with a 350 with single exhaust pipe, I have buy a dual exhaust system, but I am looking for a down pipe system.

I drive with stock manifold ,and what I can see most of the exhaust manufacturers only offers down pipes for the big block :(:(

I can only find some 350 down pipe on taper performance (nice site by the way) but I don't think they ship to Denmark .

    1. Can anyone confirm that the big block down pipe Not fit on stock 350 manifold??

    2. Someone have a link or idea how to get down pipes that will fit the stock 350 manifolds ??

    Thanks for reading
    Best regards Anders :)

If they make it, if your budget allows, and if they'll ship to Denmark, you can't go wrong with Gardner Exhaust.

I bet that car turns some heads in Denmark.

  3. Thanks Dano ,I will take a look on there site

You're welcome! It's nice stuff & will fit perfectly (I have it on my Stage1 4-sp.) but not cheap. They also have a performance version which I believe is ¼" larger pipes.

  6. Thanks Larry, that is a very good link

Do you know if the 350 engine has the size exhaust manifold size , where the down pipe meets the manifold as the 455 engine ??

Because I can buy the down pipe for the 455 engine here in Denmark, but the dealer can not tell me, if the down pipe will fit the 350 engine:confused:

I post a foto with pictures of the pipes I can buy here in Denmark,
It looks like the same type no gasket style that is on my car, but maybe the size is bigger on the 455 ?:)

I'm not sure. You have to see if the bolt spacing on the flanges is the same. My guess would be that the pipes would fit and bolt up to the exhaust manifolds of either engine if the flanges are the same, but the lengths and bends would be different.

It's the same ball/flare type connection. If you have a good exhaust shop with a mandrel bender, maybe you could make it work.

  8. Okay Larry thanks a lot for your input:) ,
I try to contact taper performance and hear if they can ship overseas, because it seems like they are they only one that makes down pipe for the 350 .

    Have a nice day

I don’t think the 455 down pipe would be too wide and I think it’s a larger flange. I would just have a muffler shop make one.

  11. Thanks for your input I have think about the wide too.

  12. The exhaust manifold exits slightly different than the 350. Not worth trying to make it fit. TA has the right part. It will make things easier!

Hello Anders- I am curious about the rest of the exhaust-those TA Performance downpipes fo your 350
will be 2.5 and TA has a nice 2.5 inch system to match.
I’ve used that, sound is great, fits well.

  15. Thanks for reply, yes if I live in USA I have order the down pipe from TA right now .
