As long as you read it, it's OK not to understand, and lack of understanding is not ignorance. The easiest way is to download the calculator and use it. I keep it on my desk top. It has a static compression ration section as well as the DCR calculator. Download it and try it out. Let me know if you have trouble using it, and I will attempt to help you.
Don't know. You would have to measure them or get that info from some one who had. You can play with the numbers to get your static compression. The cam won't know the difference for the purposes of the DCR calculator.
Okay I didall the calculations and I got a in.close ABDC 53 degrees, which gives me a total DCR of 7.79:1:eek2: with a SCR of 9:1. Does this look rightray:
If you are talking about this cam, http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=1494&gid=287 250/256, 110 LSA, 106 ICL. Rod length 6.387 I get Intake close at 51 ABDC, and 7.90 DCR, and 9.02 SCR. That is perfect.
Hey Larry, where did you get your rod length number from. I have have the rod lenght at 6.358 for the 350? I know that the 340 has a rod length of 6.387.
Download the TA catalog, and on page 199 the info is all there. I tried to copy and paste it but it did'nt come out right, thats why the font is darker.LOL Here's another link that might help; http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/m-table-c.htm
I think my old chilton is wrong. My NHRA bore/stroke doc says 6.387 also... hmmm... I must be slipping in my old age... 340's and 350's should have the same rod lenght. Thanks!
I have my cam card and it says the lobe seperaton is 112 and the center line of intake lobe is 108. ---------- Post added at 05:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:39 PM ---------- My TA catalog says 6.387.
Lol its all good. I picked upp my rods today. I got 8 reconditioned 70 rods, and the machine shop pressed them onto the 8 pistons for a gran total of................................................137.00:grin: This engine should be ready by march tenth the big cone racing event.
While youve got your car torn down, you should pull the trans and install a shift kit:3gears: Its cheap, easy, and will ad to the grin-factor of driving:grin: Nothing you do will impress your friends as much as a good loud chirp when you change gears:TU:
also if you have a little extra coin an 1800-2000 stall would go really well with your current setup!
I heard about shift kits but I hear they are not good on old trans, When I rebuild my trans I will do the stall and shift kit.
