    Location?

Where are you located? I am just switching from a 350 to a 455 and will have a stock iron 4bbl manifold and a 1 year old set of TA (uncoated) headers for sale...they would help! I am in Newark DE but the minofold may be prohibitive to ship...

    Welcome to the Board!:TU:

If you are just looking to do some minor stuff, start with a TA Stage 1 intake for the 350 - www.taperformance.com - top it off with a 750 Q-Jet or similar. Don't let anyone convince you to put a small carb on it - Buick engines just plain work better with what many might tell you is too big of a carb!:Smarty: If you need a good source for a Q-Jet rebuild - just post here. There are several very good places to send it!

Secondly, get your exhaust flowing as good as possible! Get some TA headers and a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust!! Alot of guys are adding an 'X-pipe' just after the headers - they work better than an H-pipe! Check out www.drgas.com for the x-pipe.

These items will work well with anything you might wish to do down the road - or now, depending on the $$$ situation!

If you wish to actually get into a full rebuild, post again and we can go into further detail! Just be sure to ask questions...we'll be happy to do the best we can to answer them!:TU:

4 door? Take the second row of doors and seats off. :gt: :spank:

But really, all the above items would be money well spent. The catch, ya gotta have the money to spend. :Dou:

I'd also add a Pertronix, MSD or HEI to the mix. A 4bbl brings extra top end immediatly.

Actually, your BEST first modification would be to change the rear end gears. This makes a HUGE difference. Modding the engine will increase the power, changing the cam will almost definitely move the power up the rpm range, if you have 2.76 or 2.56 gears, you'd be doing like 40mph in first gear before you really start making power.

Get minimum 3.23 but no more than 3.90. That will give you a noticeable increase in acceleration off the line but still keep the rev's low enough on the freeway. 3.42 seems optimal.

After you do that, then start with adding a 4bbl intake, electronic ignition (pertronix is good), a new cam, etc...

You can make that 4 door fly... I know a guy with a 69 4 door with a 455 in it, runs low 13's. (almost stock 455 w/ 3.42 posi rear end).

    Have fun!
