Anyone know of any major problems I would run into by putting a 1972 skylark 455 engine into my 1966 skylark? The 66 has a 340 thats dead and instead of rebuilding it I've got a donor with a 455 I'd like to use.

I was going to use the same 455's transmission too.

You need the short tail TH 400.

You have to use a short nose water pump on the 455, not the long nose one that is on your 72 455. With the short nose pump you will also need the shallow water pump pulley to go with it. I used the one off of my 66 300, your 340 should have it as well. Also, you will need a bigger radiator. Get the frame mounts from TA. There may be a few other things, but if you do a search, you will find out more about it. Quite a few 455 swaps into the 65/66s out there...
