340 tear down specs

    here are some specs on a 1966 340 if it helps anyone. pin height 1.84,, rod length 6.387,, block deck lenght is 10.22,, head cc 57-58,, the dish on the pistons were 8.5 cc,, the pistons were .068 -.070 thousands in the hole. the stock compression with the stock steel head gasket is 9.55:1, with the thick fel-pro its 9.09:1

    That must be the 4bbl version with the 'advertised' 10:1 compression.
    That deck clearance is huge.... a prime candidate for a 'mini-stroker'. :grin:

    Hi Walt, mine is the 4bbl one, the 2bbl must be even lower. going to move the pin height to 1.88 and deck the block .030 for 0 deck height.

    any cam specs (lobe lift, duration, centreline, etc)?

    lift is .399. dont know the duration and lsa. maybe some one can help us out there.

    That's a start... I'll keep searching....

    That was LOBE lift correct? Happen to have the base circle diameter?
