I just bought a 1967 Skylark vert with a 340-4. Needed to get the cam gear replaced (stripped teeth) right after I got it. Just got it back. The shop checked out the compression and it came in a 180psi on 6 cylinders and 170 on 2. Which is ok I believe. I'd like to know the range on compression pressure with stock CR (10.25 on this one I think). Car has 116k on the odo. Wondering if engine had been rebuilt at some point or if this reading is normal for this mileage. Engine is original per PO (I still need to confirm).

    Thx,
    Byas

Atmospheric air pressure is about 16 psi so 10:1 should give something close to 160 psi. I'd say your compression test numbers are very good.
