    Does anyone know;

    Would a 1970 Skylark with a 350 and a 3 speed manual column shift have had a Muncie trans or a Saginaw?

    Thanks,
    Rich

    Most likely a saginaw. How many bolts are on the top of the side cover and is there a bolt directly in the middle on top?

    if the car has a 350 with a 2bbl, it will have a saginaw tranny.

    If it was on the floor it would be a cast iron Muncie or a Ford depending on the year model. But if it is on the column I think Saginaw is the accepted answer.

    So if I have a 350 4 barrel and I want to put in a 3 speed on the column, I will need to get a Saginaw trans or would a Muncie work or would it matter?

    Thanks,
    Rich

    Linkage may be an issue.

    the saginaw was not designed for over 250 or so hp. the muncie would be the choice, if u can find one.
