3 Speed Keeps Falling Out of Gear

Hey guys. I got a 3 in the tree and I love it to death but it bugs the crap out of me because the shifter likes to get stuck in between the shift forks all the time because the 2nd and 3rd gear selector likes to fall down and then I can't grab the notch to actually grab the fork. Here's me trying to illustrate it...

The two lines are the forks that go to the tranny. the thing made out of dashes and < > signs is the selector that moves with the shifter on the column. The little up and down lines that aren't in line with the rest of the fork are notches in the forks that the selector (the dashes and < >) fits into to grab. I'm only using apostrophes for spacers.

Now what happens is I'm in 1st so I pull down when the selector is on the first fork and that puts me in first.

But when I try to shift into 2nd or 3rd, or when I shifting back to 1st or what not (basically when I change forks), sometimes the 2nd/3rd fork likes to slip and fall to where it's slightly grinding third.

Is there something I can tighten on the tranny to where it takes more pressure to move the forks so that the fork won't just fall into gear?

If this didn't make any sense, I can try to get some pictures or make a youtube video but it's kinda hard to do just because of the way it works.

Do you have the Chassis manual? Check out the procedure for lining up the shifter. Not sure if this is the total problem, but it may help. I tried scanning, but it did not turn out very clear.

If the shift levers are alligned the typical reason for a manual trans jumping out of gear into neutral is a worn synchronizer assembly. So say if jumps out of 3rd gear back to neutral, especially when decelerating, it would be a worn 3rd gear synchronizer assembly. The bad news is you have take the entire trans apart to install a new assembly.

X2. Sucks when the synchros go, and this is the typical symptom.

Thanks for the scan. I understand how to align the shifter forks and they're aligned pretty well but thanks though.

It's not that it's jumping OUT of gear. It stays in gear fine. When the selector for 2nd/3rd isn't hooked into the notch of the linkage, it slips from in the middle (neutral) and falls ONTO third gear and it grinds a little. Pulling up on the second fork is 2nd gear and down on it is 3rd gear. When the selector isn't hooked into this fork (when it's hooked into the Reverse/1st fork), the 2nd/3rd arm likes to fall from neutral and ride on top of third (it doesn't engage, just grind slightly). Since the 2nd/3rd linkage isn't in the middle because it fell down and is riding on third gear, I can't grab into the notch with the selector and I have get out and pull the 2nd/3rd selector off of 3rd gear and back into the middle manually.
