I could really use a free or really cheap 215 flywheel cover for my 63. I'm afraid some poor squirrel is gonna end up thinking he made it past the front wheel, only to get grabbed by my flywheel and processed like a meat grinder.. o No:
Tim, I'm not exactly sure because I don't have one..lol. I'm guessing it's a 215 only thing but I'm sure I could beat the heck out of something close enough. I do know what it sort of looks like. It's a shaped piece of thin metal that bolts underneath to the bell house acts like a dust cover and squirrel repelant. It's an automatic Trans.
Nick, The reason I asked was that I have one from the I guess it would be the 400 trans. that came from behind the 64 300V8 from a LaSabre that I'm rebuilding for my 65 Lark. If that one one work you can sure have it. My 65 has the 2 spd. powerglide in it but I don't remember if it has one though. If it does and that would work you could have that one. I'm putting a 4spd. in so won't need them. I'll go look under the 65 to see if it has an inspection cover on it.
I can do that. Getting the picture posted might be a different story. I know there has been posts on that subject but I've never tried it. I'll get the pic. and see what happens. If it will work you can just have it. Brb also.
Tim, it just so happens I have a 65 300 in my garage as well. I took a pic of the flywheel cover. It looks like it should fit the 63 215 without too much hammering.
Ok, Got pics. of the cover. This one is off the 64 300V8 the I believe a 400 trans. The 65 one is still on the car. If the first one will work I'll send it. If not I'll take the one off my 65. I'll try and get the pics. on here?
215 Dualpath tranny cover Nick, the only cover that's going to fit is the one for the 61-63 Dualpath. It's an early Buick Special only transmission. Don't waste your time looking for an interchange. Nothing else fits and on top of that its louvered to allow air flow because torque converter is finned (air cooled). Bill V. Pnx. Az.
